Peoria County Farm Bureau Presents Rep. Unes with “Friend of Agriculture” Award

State Representative Mike Unes (R-East Peoria) is honored to announce that he is the recipient of the 2016 “Friend of Agriculture” award from the Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB), which was awarded to him by the Peoria County Farm Bureau yesterday.

The award is an honor given only to legislators with proven record of understanding the importance of Illinois Agriculture, the far-reaching benefits of Illinois’ agricultural products, and the important role farmers play in our State and throughout the world.

Patrick Kirchhofer, manager of the Peoria County Farm Bureau, says the Farm Bureau is thankful for Representative Unes’ support of the farm community.

“Representative Unes had a favorable voting record through the Illinois Farm Bureau’s Activator program.  Agriculture has a major impact on our local economy and we are always encouraged when our local legislators support our farmers and rural communities,” Kirchhofer added.

“I’m extremely proud to support our local farmers.  I look forward to continuing to build on our strong relationship.  Our economy depends on their strong work ethic and hard work to keep the economic engine turning for the thousands of jobs they create throughout our area,” said Rep. Mike Unes.
